Dat heeft vooral te maken met de &#8216;leerperiode&#8217; van die ki-systemen, waarin ze gevoed worden met een hoop informatie, beelden e.d. (afhankelijk van het onderwerp). Analoge chips, die de opslag en het &#8216;rekenwerk&#8217; combineren, zouden dat met aanzienlijk minder energie en veel sneller (zo&#8217;n veertien keer) kunnen doen, is de gedachte <a href=\"https:\/\/research.ibm.com\/projects\/analog-ai\">van onder meer IBM<\/a>. Daarmee zouden veel beter de neurale netwerken te maken zijn die meestal bij ki worden gebruikt, waarbij ze geen last hebben van het <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.theastrologypage.com\/von-neumann-bottleneck\">Von Neumannknelpunt<\/a> van systemen waar gegevensopslag en rekeneenheden zijn gescheiden (anders dan in onze hersens, zo stellen we ons voor).<!--more--><br \/>\nNu worden er vaak grafische chips gebruikt in ki-systemen. IBM ontwikkelde zogeheten faseovergangchips die bewerking en opslag (dus) combineren. Daarmee vermijden ze het constante verkeer tussen processor en geheugen zoals in een de aloude digitale computer waarvan dat Von Neumannknelpunt een (lastig) gevolg is.<br \/>\nConcluderen is voor mensen makkelijk, maar voor computers lastig. Die faseoverganggeheugens (PCM in Engelse afko) zijn de synaptische cellen, noemt IBM ze. Een <a href=\"https:\/\/nl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Synaps\">synaps<\/a> in je hersens is het contactpunt tussen uitlopers van hersencellen en die verbindingen vormen netwerken die onze (en andere hersens) doen &#8217;tikken&#8217;.<\/p>\n<h2>Netwerk<\/h2>\n<p>Een analoge cel van IBM bestaat uit miljoenen van die PCM-cellen. Dat zijn er 13 miljoen in een IBM verhaaltje, maar dat is al zo&#8217;n zes jaar oud. Nu zouden dat er al 35 miljoen zijn, maar als je onze hersens wilt &#8216;kopi\u00ebren&#8217; zouden dat er miljarden moeten worden. Die zijn dan zo gerangschikt dat ze op basis van de leerstof een netwerk gaan vormen.
